Pre and Post-Operative Physiotherapy
Pre-Operative Physiotherapy is a short treatment plan that puts you in the best possible shape for surgery and has been shown to accelerate recovery.
Post-Operative Physiotherapy is started shortly after your operation, to help you to regain movement, decrease swelling and strengthen the muscles around the joint. This treatment plan aids in reducing stiffness, pain, swelling and building up your confidence.
Our Physiotherapists will advise you on how and when you can return to normal activities including sport. You will be given an exercise programme designed to guide you back to your pre-operative activity.
Falls and Balance Physiotherapy
Treatment programmed aimed to help clients with balance and walking after a fall. This program is designed to help build confidence and re-education after a fall.
Aimed at older adults, our tailored programmes will help preserve mobility and help with issues like arthritis, balance disorders, joint replacement, stroke, and osteoporosis.
Pilates is a mind body exercise program, focusing on improving strength, flexibility and coordination.Clinical Pilates is a modification of the original exercise system designed to improve ‘core stability’. Core stability training targets the muscles deep within the abdomen which connect to the spine, pelvis and shoulders,which assist in the maintenance of good posture and provide the foundation for all arm and leg movements.

Counselling & Psychotherapy – Coming October 2014
Many people experience difficulties in their life which can seem over- whelming. At Altana Physiotherapy we offer counselling which enables clients to address such problems and help make life changes needed to improve a person’s mental and emotional health and well-being.
We offer counselling as a face to face assessment with one of our fully qualified psychotherapists in a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment to explore the issues that may be at the root of your problems.
We also or as part of telephone counselling. If the client decides to accept the offer of our telephone service then our expert will contact the client on a weekly basis to provide telephone counselling for ease of the client if they are finding it hard to travel or find time to attend our clinics.
